Terrazzo Centrepiece Casting Workshop | Nottingham
A three hour casting workshop, where you learn the basics of casting with Jesmonite and create a circular terrazzo Centrepiece.
What you will do
During the workshop you will design your colour palette, learn how to mix and add pigment to Jesmonite, learn how to cast into a silicone mould and finally how to sand and finish your centrepiece.
Because the materials we are working with will need some time to set, there will be some natural breaks during the session where refreshments will be provided.
We will primarily work with Jesmonite, which is a gypsum-based resin. It is non-toxic with no VOCs. We will also use some water-based pigments and wax for finishing.
By the end of the workshop, you will take home your finished circular centrepiece.
Because of the time restraints of the workshop we will finish your centrepiece with wax, this adds a light layer of protection and a really lovely finish but is not as resistant to coffee or wine stains as other sealers.
Our studio is fully accessible with two double doors in the main studio space which both open for step-free access. There are accessible disabled toilets on site, please get in touch if you have any questions regarding accessibility or disable parking.
